WARRANTY INFORMATION BELOW

NIGHT OPERATORS / WARRANTY

Cover the tube, not just the box it came in.

An image intensifier is a hand built vacuum device. It either performs for years or it shows a fault early. Operator Care is the coverage we recommend on every analog purchase, because a tube fault is the one failure that is genuinely expensive to put right.

Operator Care Warranty

One full year of coverage against defects in materials and workmanship, on analog PVS units and on the digital line. Added at checkout or bought separately at any time before your unit ships.

Twelve months against defects.

Operator Care runs for one year from the date your unit is delivered. It covers the things that are our fault to get wrong, and it covers them by repair or replacement at our discretion, at no charge to you.

Tube performance faults

Emission points that develop, unexpected gain loss, flickering or failure to autogate correctly within the covered period.

Collimation drift

If the optical alignment moves out of spec under normal use, we bring it back to our QC floor.

Housing and workmanship

Assembly faults, mount interface defects, switchgear and diopter mechanisms that fail under normal handling.

Electronics

Power circuitry, illuminator and control faults that affect whether the unit does its job.

Where the line sits.

We would rather you know this before you claim than after. None of the following is covered under Operator Care.

Sun and laser damage

Pointing an intensified tube at the sun, a bright light source or a laser burns it. That is physics, not a defect.

Impact and water

Drops, crush damage, and water ingress beyond the unit rating.

Modification

Units that have been opened, re-tubed, re-housed or otherwise altered by anyone other than us.

Cosmetic wear

Scuffs, finish wear and marks that do not affect how the unit performs.

Consumables

Batteries, sacrificial lenses, eyecups and straps.

Loss and theft

Operator Care is a defects warranty. It is not insurance. Shipping Insurance at checkout covers the parcel in transit.

Transferability

Coverage extends to the original purchaser and does not transfer with a resale. If you are buying a used Night Operators unit from a third party, it arrives without Operator Care attached.

Four steps, one person.

No portal, no ticket queue, no third party administrator. You email us and a person here handles it start to finish.

Step
What happens
Timing
1 / Write in
Email us with your order number and a plain description of the fault. Photos or a short phone video through the eyepiece help enormously.
Same day reply, usually
2 / Assessment
We tell you honestly whether what you are seeing is a covered defect, normal tube behaviour, or damage. We explain which and why.
1 business day
3 / Return
If it is covered we send return instructions. We cover the inbound shipping on a valid warranty claim.
On approval
4 / Repair or replace
The unit is bench tested against the same QC sheet standard it shipped with. Repaired or replaced at our discretion, then returned to you.
Assessed on receipt

Blemishes are not faults

Every analog tube has some cosmetic blemishes. Yours shipped with a printed QC sheet and a blemish map for that exact serial number. If a spot appears on your map, it was there when it passed QC and it is within spec. If something has appeared that is not on the map, that is worth a conversation.

COVERAGE

Add it before the unit ships.

Operator Care can be added at checkout or bought separately at any point before your unit leaves us. Once a unit has shipped, coverage has to be arranged before delivery, so it is worth deciding early.

Operator Care is a manufacturer defects warranty offered by Night Operators and is separate from any rights you already hold under the consumer law of your country or state. Nothing on this page removes or limits those statutory rights.
